How Tyler Got A Faster Arm & Better Mechanics

May 11, 2025

Who is Tyler?
Tyler was a youth middle school athlete from Pennsylvania who found me online to work with him for his elbow pain.

Where was Tyler before working with you?
Tyler came to us as a middle school pitcher looking to improve his throwing mechanics. He had no pain—but his arm action was too quick, leading to inefficiencies in his delivery that could impact future performance or injury risk.

How did Tyler find you, and what made his case unique?
Tyler enrolled in our online throwing analysis program after seeing the success we’ve had with other youth pitchers. His case stood out because of how early we caught the issues—he had a chance to build elite habits before bad ones took over.

What did you immediately notice and start working on?
The first red flag was his rapid arm action in the early throwing phase. It wasn’t timed well with his lower body, which threw off sequencing. We started working on strengthening drills and neuromuscular re-education to slow the arm path down and improve his posture through the throw.

What were the key interventions and exercises?
We incorporated:

  • Zoom-based coaching sessions

  • Drills targeting front leg stability

  • Rotational strength and trunk control work

  • Video breakdowns to teach positioning and tempo

What progress did you see over time?
At the 4-week mark, his front leg stability improved and his layback position showed real power potential—even though his arm path was still a work in progress. By the 8th week, his mechanics looked entirely different. His movement was smoother, more efficient, and clearly more powerful.

Before & After Results:

  • Before: rushed arm path, poor timing, limited power

  • After: improved timing, stable front leg, explosive layback, velocity-ready form

What would you say to a parent or athlete considering online pitching help?
Don’t wait for pain to start before you fix mechanics. Tyler’s transformation shows what’s possible when you catch movement inefficiencies early and build the foundation for high-level throwing.
